It’s been a long time since I posted anything about the stuff I’m writing. (At this point you might well be expecting a long post detailing everything/everyone that was wrong during my 15 years at HMV – you’ll have to wait for that one I’m afraid, but don’t worry, it will come… and I will name names…)
For the most part that has been because there really isn’t much to tell at the moment. HTTN is still out in the ether, being given what must be a microscopically close examination by A Certain Publisher. The fact that it is still out there is a good sign in my eyes. HKV, the follow-up, and ED4 have both suffered from the RL uncertainty of the last couple of months. It’s difficult to maintain any kind of creative focus when you’re on the verge of losing your job, after all. In a way it’s a good thing that the issue has finally been resolved. It feels like a massive weight has gone from my shoulders, and I’ve finally started working on both projects again. Regrets? None. I don’t want to work for a company that doesn’t value me.
On a far more positive note, there are new projects on the horizon too, all of them speculative right now. (We’ll keep the convention of acronyms for each one, since I like my titles far too much to give them away for free…)
TFL is a modern-day fantasy which has been coalescing slowly for the last 12 months. It doesn’t have a full structure, but it does have a prologue. Oh, and it does something that no other modern-day fantasy has done… yet.
AoT is a follow-on sequence from Malessar’s Curse. Again, no full structure, but plenty of ideas…
TCoD is an audio script. An audio script? Oh yes. As I say, purely speculative…
As is TCoS, which is another audio script in exactly the same vein.
So… that’s six unfinished projects on the go. More than enough to keep me busy for the next couple of years.
Nuff said; time to write.
