How to be Wrong

The Daily Mail. What a bunch of fuckwits. Screaming, on the one hand, about how biased to the left the BBC is, somehow they fail to note that they are the official mouthpiece for the BNP-approving end of the Conservative party. Bias? Yes, I think you could say that.

This morning’s headline is just the latest in a long series of “round em all up, put em in a field, and bomb the bastards” style rantings that you’d expect from a team of over-privileged inbred buffoons who contracted rabies five years ago and don’t want to admit it. As much as I condemn the actions of Mick Philpott and his chums, there is no bloody way you can draw a line from his actions to the state of social services and provision in the UK and come to the conclusions that the Daily Fail has done without being a spineless, reactionary Tory bigot who wants to ghettoise every part of the country north of the Watford Gap.

In a nutshell, what the Mail has done is say: “If you give the undeserving poor more than £53 a week, they will kill their children. They can’t be trusted with money. They should be chained up in their houses at night, and they should love us for it. God save Kate!”

I can’t begin to tell you on how many levels this is wrong. But the Daily Mail of course does not stop there. Under pressure to justify his war on anybody earning less than him, Ian Duncan Smith (now there’s a name I never wanted to type) is using the tabloid to propagate his revisionist history. “I can live on £53 a week, but I don’t have to, so there,” he snivelled. He used the word “bloody” a lot as well, so you could tell he was upset. Diddums.

IDS (or IBS, as we call him here) claims that he has survived on the breadline twice before, even though he never actually signed on the dole. He lived off his savings. Well, bully for him, but pardon me if I doubt those claims. This is the same man who claimed he studied at the University of Perugia and was educated at the Dunchurch school of management, after all – and both those claims had to be hastily rescinded after journalistic investigations.

In other words, IBS, you’re a bloody liar. Now: prove it. In public.

And while we’re on the subject of the Daily Fail, can somebody please explain what Richard Littlejohn is for aside from bullying people to death? Funny how his articles disappeared from view, eh?I’d like a police investigation into that particualr hate crime.

So: the Daily Mail. Shame on you if you read that shitrag.
